About the Owner/Operator
I, Matt Hatzi, came to start in the construction industry over 19 years ago building large custom homes from the ground up as I was working my way through college. I didn't anticipate that a summer job that many years ago would transform itself over time into the business before you.
As I continued my college career at Western Oregon University, through dedicated hard work, I was able to secure my first Jobsite Foreman position at the age of 20. In this position, I was responsible for the day-to-day operations of numerous concurrent jobsites, multiple employees, as well as over $300,000 in assets.
After 4 years spent in Monmouth, Or., I was ready for a change, and to be a bit closer to my family, so I moved back to Portland, where I grew up during the majority of my adolescence. Now back in Portland, I accepted a position as a lead carpenter at Hammer and Hand Inc., a local Portland remodeling company, while I finished my college career at Portland State University. I graduated from PSU in 2010 with a BS in Human Resources, and a BS in General Management, and moved into the Human resources world for a while.
After graduating from Portland State University, I accepted a position in the HR department at Standard Insurance working with the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). From there I was able to earn a position in Nike's HR department, as they needed my expertise with project management and team leadership within their FMLA department.
After a few years working at Nike, I looked to the world, and realized what truly makes me happy is running my own business, especially if that business has to do with improving the lives of others.
Through my experiences I have found that helping a homeowner realize their dreams truly makes me happy, as the happiness that exudes from a homeowner after a successfully completed project is entirely genuine. In my book, there is nothing that beats genuine happiness.
For these reasons and many more, it would give me great pleasure to have the opportunity to talk with you about any home renovation or repair ideas you may have.
